1. Get a Domain

Go to Unstoppable Domains website and search for a Web3 domain name amongst a variety of endings including .crypto, .nft, .x, .blockchain and more. Be sure to use English characters and numbers only, no spaces or special characters.

How to come up with a great domain name: - Aim for simplicity: Choose a simple domain name that people will remember. Uncommon words can be hard to spell and can lead to confusion.

- Be consistent: Using your username for other social media platforms could be the easiest way for you to make the jump from Web2 to Web3.

- Find the best length: Shorter domains are easy to remember, but if you’re finding that the domain names you want are out of your price range, try adding in an extra word or a few numbers at the end.

- Strive for greatness not perfection: Don’t spend hours choosing the perfect name, just get started and buckle up for your ride into Web3.

Selecting your domain ending:
All of the various Unstoppable Domain endings offer the same utilities and features. It’s about selecting the one that fits you best. For example, .nft is a great option for artists, collectors and NFT enthusiasts, while .wallet is great if you want a dedicated name for wallets and payments.

Once you find a domain you like, add it to your cart and submit payment via credit card, paypal, cryptocurrency or Unstoppable Domains promo code. Once your payment is completed, you’ll be prompted to mint your domain. You can mint your domain with Polygon, meaning you don’t have to pay gas fees. You own your domain forever with no renewal fees.

2. Crypto Wallet Overview

Crypto wallets allow you to manage your digital assets across Web3, like cryptocurrencies and NFTs. Unlike a normal wallet that holds cash, crypto wallets don’t technically store your crypto, instead they store information that points to your crypto and NFTs location on the blockchain. Remember, the blockchain is a public ledger that records and authenticates all transactions.

Types of Wallets:

Hot Wallets vs Cold Wallets

Hot wallets are connected to the internet and exist on your desktop or mobile device. They can easily connect to platforms you trade on and websites you visit on the internet.

Cold wallets are offline hardware wallets that must be connected to a computer or mobile device in order to transact. Both hot and cold wallets allow you to store, send and receive tokens, like cryptocurrency and NFTs.

Custodial vs Non-custodial wallets

Custodial wallets are issued through a third party such as a cryptocurrency exchange where your assets are handed over to be stored, rather than controlling them yourself. Custodial wallets reduce personal responsibility as your entrusted third party provides backup and security for assets, but this also means that you are not the owner of your private keys and if you don’t own your private keys, you don’t own your assets.

Non-custodial wallets are decentralized and allow you to have complete control over your cryptocurrency and assets. This also comes with great responsibility as you are solely responsible for not losing your private keys (your access to your wallet). This requires you to take your own precautions to protect your assets and funds.

Private keys/seed phrase

Your private keys or seed phrase is a 12-word phrase which allows you to control your crypto assets with your non-custodial wallet, kind of like a password or your digital signature. Losing your private keys/seed phrase could be devastating, resulting in the inability to recover access to your wallet and assets.

Anyone who gets a hold of your private keys/seed phrase can take control of your wallet and assets, so it’s imperative that you keep your private keys safe and secure. Storing your private keys on an internet-connected device like your phone or computer may be convenient, but it leaves you open to hackers, phishing scams, viruses, and other malware. Some of the methods to consider to keep your private keys safe are writing them down on paper and storing them somewhere secure, like a safety lock box or an offline cold storage device like Ledger, Trezor.

Deciding which wallet is right for you

Determining what wallet is best for you depends on what you intend to use it for and what level of ownership and responsibility you prefer. Regardless of your choice, it’s important to keep your wallet secure!

Keep your wallet secure

- Keep your private keys to yourself. Never share your private keys or seed phrases with anyone.

- Be wary of clicking on risky links. Take precaution when receiving unsolicited direct messages on social channels like Twitter and Discord or any links shared by accounts that are not verified as officially managed by the related project.

- Pay special attention to links that appear similar to an official website but have a subtle difference in spelling. Use browser bookmarks to save sites you visit, like and transact on, such as Opensea.io, to ensure you’re accessing the official site.

How to fund your wallet

In order to transact across Web3 you will need to use an exchange to fund your wallet. Exchanges are digital marketplaces where you can buy and trade cryptocurrencies with your fiat currency, such as the US dollar. There are many exchanges to choose from! Some of the most popular and user-friendly exchanges are Coinbase and Binance. Depending on where you live, some exchanges may not be available to you.

Setting up Your Profile

Setting up your domain profile is a fast, simple and convenient way for you to share your digital identity across Web3. Profiles serve as your record of online accounts and activities. Profiles are 100% opt-in, so the data you choose to share across apps, games and metaverses is fully controlled by you!

Begin to build your Web3 identity by uploading your profile photo, adding a banner image and sharing a bit about yourself within your bio description. You can even display your favorite NFT as your profile picture!

You can verify your social clout by syncing your Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Discord and Telegram accounts.

Proudly display the badges you’ve earned from your online activity and participation in Web3, or choose to hide them.

Showcase your digital assets and personalize your profile even more by enabling your Token Gallery.

Share your contact info, such as your public or private email address, as you wish!

Sync your Crypto Wallet Addresses

Simplify your crypto transactions by adding your crypto addresses in the correct field to receive payments via your Web3 domain.

Send and Receive Email

Enable email messaging for your domain to send and receive private encrypted email communication.

Build a Website

Build a decentralized website by utilizing our templates, creating a site yourself and uploading to IPFS, linking to an existing IPFS hash, or redirecting to a traditional domain.

Transfer Your Domain:

You can transfer ownership of your domain to another address. You must have the private key in order to manage your domain. If you transfer this domain to an exchange or any other custodial account where you do not control the private key, you will not be able to access your domain.

Sell Your Domain:

List your domain for sale both on the Unstoppable Domains website and on popular NFT marketplaces, like Opensea.io or Rarible.

Reverse Resolution:

Enable Reverse Resolution to allow Web3 applications to display your Web3 domain name instead of your long wallet address. Without reverse resolution, it’s hard to represent your digital identity and data across Web3.

Once your profile is complete you can view it at ud.me/YOURDOMAIN and share it across the web!
